The Lake County Financial Data Report is prepared annually from information reported on the School District Annual Financial Report filed by each school district with the Illinois State Board of Education.
School District Annual Financial Reports
Each year every school district must file the Annual Financial Report with the Illinois State Board of Education through the Regional Office of Education. This report is completed by the school district's auditor. It includes the balance sheet, statement of change in financial position of the district, audit opinion, auditor's questionnaire and individual fund statements. A copy may be obtained by filing a freedom of information request.

School District Budgets
Each year every school district must file a School District Budget with the Illinois State Board of Education. The School District Budget sets the plan for accomplishing the financial goals of the local board of education. The School District Budget Form (ISBE-50-36) includes estimated receipts/revenues, estimated disbursements/expenditures, budget summary, and summary of cash transactions.
Per section 17-1.2 of The Illinois School Code "If a School District has an Internet website, the school district shall post its current annual budget, itemized by receipts and expenditures, on the district’s Internet website."
