Important Notification: The 2002 Series GED® test has expired and is no longer available. If you did not pass the 2002 Series GED® test by December 31, 2013, you must now begin the testing process with the new 2014 GED® test.
$120 ($30 per exam) Pearson VUE and $13 Regional Office of Education (GED Certificate & Office Transcript).
After passing the GED Test, individuals may request an Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate and Official Transcript from the Lake County Regional Office of Education. The cost is $10.00 for the certificate and $6.00 for the official transcript.
Effective July 1, 2016, the Official Transcript fee will increase to $6.00 per transcript.

The GED test is a new computer-based test released January 2, 2014 in both English and Spanish.
Registration for the test is done online at www.ged.com but the test must be taken at an official Pearson Vue certified testing center.
Scores from previous versions cannot be combined with the 2014 test scores. Scores for each subject area are from 100 to 200. The minimum passing score is 150 per each subject area. Test scores will be emailed to the individual.
Persons taking the test must be an Illinois resident for at least 30 days and must be at least 18 years of age. Persons 17 years of age may test if they provide proof of with of withdrawal from last school attended. Proof of withdrawal may be emailed to Leann Arsenault or faxed to 217-558-6700.
