Limits: Near Wilson Blvd in unicorporated Lake County.
Description: The project consists of replacing storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and grading to address drainage issues in the area.
LCDOT is working on a drainage improvement project along Rollins Road, west of Fairfield Road. As part of this project, some of Round Lake’s sanitary infrastructure had to be relocated to make room for larger concrete stormwater pipes. The sanitary work was completed first, followed by work on the storm sewer pipe. The storm sewer work involved crossing Rollins Road at two locations, requiring removal of the asphalt pavement, excavation to remove the old pipe, preparing and placing the new pipe, and repaving the road all in one day. At this point all storm sewer work is complete and some minor sanitary work is still expected this winter. Work will resume in the spring to complete landscaping, redo the patches on Rollins Road and Wilson Boulevard, and complete any other miscellaneous work to wrap up the project.
