Community Support Services (CSS)

What is CSS?
CSS provides an array of services to individuals with severe emotional difficulties. CSS focuses on evaluation, development of service planning and follow-up. Staff strives to provide services in the least restrictive setting to enhance each client’s potential to function independently in the community.

CSS has the following 3 components:
  • Case Management
  • Shared Apartment Program
  • Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA)
Case Management
Staff provides support, advocacy to promote self-sufficiency and linkage with appropriate community services such as Social Security, Department of Human Services and subsidized housing.

Shared Apartment Program
The shared apartment program is supported, transitional housing designed to assist individuals to achieve necessary skills to live independently in the community.

Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA)
CILA is a supervised, supportive service to those individuals with severe emotional difficulties who have had at least 3 hospitalizations in a state-operated facility. The goal of CILA is to promote residential and emotional stability through carefully tailored service planning with client, family, significant others and staff of Behavioral Health.

What Is the Cost?
Fees are based on level of income and number of dependents. A sliding fee schedule based on national poverty levels is available for Lake County residents.
