New Location for VAC Meetings
Meetings will now take place at Forest City Community Center, located at 2001 Virginia Ave., Great Lakes, IL. We look forward to seeing you there!
Saturday Appointments are now Available
Veterans and their dependents now have another option for assistance with filing claims. The Veterans Assistance Commission now has Saturday hours at the Wauconda American Legion, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. This is your opportunity to meet with an accredited service officer, and all services are free. Please call the VAC for an appointment at 847-377-3344.
For transportation to James A. Lovell Federal Center for medical appointments, contact Mike Hiley at 224-610-2961. He is available:
- Tuesday and Thursday, 8 a.m. - Noon in Building 133 for claims processing
- Monday - Friday in Room 115 for transportation
We have received a dental grant from Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County. If you are a Lake County Resident, have an honorable discharge, served at least one day during wartime period or 24 months peacetime and your total household income is within 200% of the poverty level index, you may be eligible. If you are interested, please contact our office. The dental is for emergency pain you are having only, we cannot provide cosmetic dental care.
