The Department of Information Technology supports technology within the organization as follows:

• Coordinate, evaluate, implement and support use of technologies with the county agencies
• Administer compatibility interface and performance on all hardware/software and networks used by county agencies
• Provide a "switchboard" for sharing information among departments
• Administer voice communications services and support
• Encourage uniformity in county business processes and services
• Administer data communications services, installs and support
• Coordinate and support geographical information systems and map services
• Sponsor integrity of business processes through administration of security, backup/recovery and systems analysis
• Provide technical expertise and support on all technology products and services
• Promote local and national exchange of information
• Provide information technology to support the goals defined by the county board
