Community Development Grants
Lake County has grant funds available from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development to assist low-income persons. Funds can be used for the following activities:

  • Public Infrastructure (sewers, roads, etc) improvements
  • Housing development and rehabilitation
  • Public service activities, assisting human service organizations
  • Homeless assistance

Jobseeker and Employer Services Grants
Under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Lake County Workforce Development can pay for qualified jobseekers to attend short-term training to enhance their wage and career possibilitles. More information is available at the Job Center of Lake County website.

The Job Center of Lake County also offers employers various training grants and incentives to provide quality training to their employees in order to remain competitive in today's global economy. More information is available at the Job Center of Lake County website.

Senior Citizens Circuit Breaker Grants
Qualified seniors and disabled citizens that qualify can receive help with prescription drugs, license plate discounts and possibly a grant from the State of Illinois.
