PUBLIC HEARINGS NOTICE
Lake County Consortium Housing & Community Development Annual Action Plan
The Lake County Consortium – comprised of the City of Waukegan, the City of North Chicago and Lake County – will be submitting a combined Annual Action Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Annual Action Plan will guide the allocation and expenditure of funds available for the 2016 program year (May 1st, 2016 – April 30th, 2017) through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), and the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG).
Public Hearings on the 2016 Annual Action Plan will be held at the following two meetings of the Lake County Housing and Community Development Commission:

Initial 2016 Funding Recommendations will be voted on by the Housing and Community Development Commission’s (HCDC) Executive Committee January 13th at 2:30 p.m. in the County Administration Building in Waukegan followed by the first Public Hearing at 3:30p.m. That outcome will be posted in the 2016 Action Plan no later than February 1st, 2016 and will be voted upon following the second Public Hearing by the full HCDC on February 10th at 3:30 p.m. in the Libertyville Permit Center. The full Lake County Board vote will occur March 8th, 2016.
The 2016 Action Plan official public comment period is from February 1st to March 3rd, 2016: Comments (delivered either during the public hearing or in writing) regarding the Annual Action Plan and projects recommended for funding will be accepted through March 3rd, 2016 at 5:00p.m. Written comments may be directed to: Lake County Community Development, 500 West Winchester Road, Libertyville, IL 60048 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Public Hearing Information
An important part of the process of developing the Annual Action Plan is citizen participation and input. All interested parties are invited and urged to attend. All comments and questions will be considered. Persons in need of special arrangements (translator, specific disabilities, etc.) should contact staff at least three (3) days prior to the meeting date at 847.377.2475.
The Annual Action Plan will be published no later than February 1st and will be available at the Lake County Libertyville Permit Center; City of North Chicago Department of Economic Development (Phone: 847.596.8670); City of Waukegan Community Development Block Grant Office (Phone: 847.599.2530); North Chicago Public Library; Waukegan Public Library; Highland Park Public Library; Round Lake Area Public Library; and Wauconda Public Library; or can be viewed on the County’s website : Action Plan

Community Development activities are overseen by the Housing and Community Development Commission (HCDC), which meets the second Wednesday of every month at 3:30 PM.
