The Engineering and Environmental Services Division is responsible for the following general functions:

• Enforcement of the Unified Development Ordinance in unincorporated Lake County in relation to drainage, soil erosion, floodplain and wetland protection
• Issuance of Site Development Permits
• Point of contact for citizen inquiries and complaints related to drainage, soil erosion, floodplains and wetlands in unincorporated Lake County
• Oversight of the National Flood Insurance Program for unincorporated Lake County
• Coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on wetland related matters
