Unified Development Ordinance (UDO)
The Lake County Board adopted the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) on April 11, 2000.
The UDO regulations apply only to lands in unincorporated Lake County. Municipalities regulate the lands located within their boundaries. The UDO contains regulations relating to:
- Zoning
- Subdivision
- Signs
- Site Development (Stormwater Detention, Erosion Control, Floodplain and Wetlands)
The UDO has Two Components - Text and Maps
- The text contains regulations that govern use of the land
- The maps classify lands within the zoning districts
