Water and Sewer Bill Payment Options


Automatic Direct Debit Payment
Direct Debit is a free and easy way to pay your bill automatically from your bank account.  Print a copy of the Direct Debit Application Form (PDF Format 133KB), or call our office at 847.377.7500 to request that a copy of the form be mailed to you.

Mail or bring the completed form to:  Lake County Public Works

You can also fax the completed form to the Billing Department at 847.377.7173.

Automatic payments do not begin until the billing cycle after your application is received.  If you have a current bill, please submit a payment using one of the options listed below. When Direct Debit begins, your regular paper invoice will show the amount of the payment to be deducted from your bank account on the due date.

To cancel Direct Debit you must contact our office at least four business days prior to the current due date.  Call your account representative at the phone number shown on your bill or call our general office at 847.377.7500.


Mailed Payments
Check or money order payments can be mailed directly to our office at the address below.  Be sure to include your customer account number and payment stub with all payments.
Please do not send cash in the mail.

Drop-Off Payments
Cash, check, money order and credit card payments can be made at our office during normal business hours.  For your convenience we also have two 24-hour drop boxes which are emptied each morning at 8:00 AM.  Do not deposit cash in the drop boxes.

Drop Box #1 - At the front door of our office at 650 Winchester Road in Libertyville

Drop Box #2 – If the Public Works gate is closed, there is another drop box behind the Winchester House facility.  Look for the “Lake County Government Center” sign on Winchester Road, two blocks west of Milwaukee Avenue (Route 21). Turn north and drive straight ahead until you see the collection boxes on your left.  Our drop box is marked “Department of Public Works Water & Sewer Payment.”

Telephone Credit Card Payments
To pay your bill by VISA or MasterCard, call our office at 847.377.7500.  For security reasons we do not retain card numbers, so you must call the office each time you wish to pay by credit card.


Disputing Your Bill
If for any reason you believe your bill is not accurate, contact our Billing Department immediately. The name and phone number of your account representative is found on your bill, or you may call the general office at 847.377.7500.
