2016 Watershed Management Board Cost-Share Grants
SMC is now accepting Request for Proposals for this annual SMC Watershed Management Board (WMB) cost-share grant program for projects, planning, engineering analysis, alternate resource solution, design, capital construction; and for supporting the growth and sustainability of local watershed partnerships in Lake County. Project proposals are reviewed based on the following prioritized criteria:

| Flood hazard reduction benefits
| Structural damage reduction
| Water quality benefits
| Natural resource benefits
| Nuisance flood reduction
| Multiple use benefits
| Outside funding utilization
| Public education component

Grant/Funding Program Name: Great Lakes Restoration Initiative FY15
Funding Organization: U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Great Lakes Program/Region 5
Funding Available: $13.9 million for ~40 projects across 5 project categories (see RFA)
Match Requirement: None required
Eligible Applicants: state agencies; any agency or instrumentality of local government; interstate agencies; federally-recognized tribes and tribal organizations; colleges and universities; non-profit organizations; and other public or non-profit private agencies, institutions, and organizations.
Eligible Location(s) in Lake County: Lake Michigan Watershed; although application is open to all projects that: (i) protect, enhance, and/or restore the Great Lakes; or (ii) protect Great Lakes ecosystem health, including human health.
