Grant/Funding Program Name: Partners for Places 
Funding Organization: Funders’ Network for Smart Growth and Livable Communities and the Urban Sustainability Directors Network
Funding Available per Application: $25,000-$75,000
Match Requirement: Minimum 50% (1:1) local match required
Eligible Applicants: The proposal must be submitted by a team of at least two partners who are: (1) the sustainability director of a city (municipality) or a county and (2) a local, place-based foundation(s).  See RFP for more information.
Eligible Location(s) in Lake County: Countywide

Grant/Funding Program Name: Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) and Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM)
Funding Organization: Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Funding Available per Application: PDM: $250,000 maximum; FMA: $150,000,000 available for approximately 150 projects nation-wide, $25,000 max Federal share for local mitigation plans
Match Requirement: 25% non-Federal (both programs)
Eligible Applicants: For both programs, local governments are considered sub-applicants, and must apply through the Applicant State (IL Emergency Management Agency/IEMA).  For PDM, sub-applicants must participate in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  FMA mitigation projects must have a FEMA-approved mitigation plan.
Eligible Location(s) in Lake County: Countywide
Application Closing Date: August 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm Central (both programs).  SUB-APPLICATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO IEMA AT LEAST A WEEK PRIOR TO THE AUGUST 28 CLOSING DATE.

Grant/Funding Program Name: Section 319(h) Nonpoint Source Pollution Control Financial Assistance Program (“Section 319 Grants”)
Funding Organization: Illinois Environmental Protection Agency
Funding Available per Application: not specified, typical grant range is $50,000-$1,200,000
Match Requirement: 40% local match, minimum.  Most Federal funding sources cannot be used to achieve minimum local match.
Eligible Applicants: Any entity that has legal status to accept funds from the state of Illinois, including; state and local governmental units, nonprofit organizations, citizen and environmental groups, individuals and businesses.
Eligible Location(s) in Lake County: Countywide; but it is also priority year for implementing projects recommended in a watershed-based plan in the Fox River watershed.
