  • Fremont Center Road Project

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted an open house March 18 to provide information about potential improvements to the intersection of Fremont Center Road and the surrounding area. Public comments regarding transportation issues and concerns in this area are being accepted through April 1 using this comment form at the study webpage.

  • Washington Street Underpass Project: Haryan Way to Lake Street

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is hosting a Construction Open House for the Washington Street Underpass Project. Construction will be kicking off soon, so this meeting is an opportunity to view the construction plans and schedule, and to talk with representatives from LCDOT and the project consultant. The meeting will be conducted in an informal, open house format. You may attend the open house at any time between 5 – 7 p.m. to ask questions and view the maps and exhibits.

  • Darrell Road open house held February 10

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) hosted an open house/public meeting at the Island Lake Village Hall to begin the process of studying potential improvements to Darrell Road between Case Road and Fisher Road in the Village of Island Lake and Wauconda Township. At the meeting, the project was introduced and public input was gathered. Public comments can be submitted through February 24 by completing a form available on the study web page.

  • River Road to reopen Thursday, February 5

    River Road (County Route V50) at Roberts Road (V45) is scheduled to be reopened to traffic by mid-morning on Thursday, February 5, weather permitting. A temporary traffic signal has been installed for traffic control at the intersection. River Road will close again later this spring for the construction of the roundabout.

  • Buffalo Grove Road Phase I study

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is performing a Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Study (Phase I Study) for Buffalo Grove Road from Deerfield Parkway to IL Route 22. The study will evaluate long term improvements for Buffalo Grove Road in compliance with criteria for environmental studies. Also considered in this study is the completion of the existing bike path along the east side of Buffalo Grove Road. A public meeting was held on December 9, 2014 to review study materials and submit comments regarding the study. Comments can be submitted using the comment form posted on the website, or through the Contact Us form on the website. Comments submitted by December 23 will be entered into the public record.

  • Proposed improvements to Old McHenry Road discussed at public hearing November 18

    A public hearing to discuss proposed improvements to Old McHenry Road was held November 18, 2014 at Kildeer Countryside Elementary School. The proposed project will consist of improvements along Old McHenry Road within downtown Long Grove.   • Wadsworth Road intersections public meeting

    The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has initiated a study for improvements to the intersections of Wadsworth Road at Dilleys Road, U.S. Route 41, and Kilbourne Road to consider capacity, safety, and projected future travel demand. A public information meeting was held Monday September 15 to present the study schedule, planning process and stakeholder involvement opportunities, and to provide an opportunity for the public to share perspectives about transportation issues and concerns regarding the study area. Public comments collected at the meeting or submitted through the Contact Us form on the project website by September 29 will be entered into the public meeting record.

  • Peterson Rd lane closures to begin Monday, September 15

    There will be no left turn access to northbound and southbound Illinois Route 83 from Peterson Road for 3 weeks beginning September 15, 2014 at 6am. The closure is necessary as part of the Peterson Road reconstruction and widening project. The signed detour route for the Peterson Road closure will be Peterson Road (Lake County Route A-33) to Midlothian Road(Lake County Route V-73) to Winchester Road (Lake County Route A-34) to Illinois Route 83.   • Help shape the future of Lake County's housing and community development

    Lake County government needs your input! Help us prioritize the use of federal grant funds for housing and community development activities over the next five years. Take this survey (available in English or Spanish) to assess affordable housing, neighborhood conditions, access to parks, job training programs and other needs of low- and moderate-income individuals and households. Results of the survey will be presented to the Lake County Board in the fall.

  • Closure beginning Monday August 18: IL Route 83 at Canadian National Railroad

    The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that IL Route 83 will be fully closed at the Canadian National Railroad in the Village of Grayslake, Lake County beginning on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 6:00 AM through Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 6:00 PM for the repairs at the grade crossing.

    The posted detour route for northbound traffic on IL Route 83 is to proceed westbound on Peterson Road, northbound on Alleghany Road, and eastbound on IL Route 120 back to IL Route 83. The posted detour route for southbound traffic on IL Route 83 is to proceed westbound on IL Route 120, southbound on Alleghany Road, and eastbound on Peterson Road back to IL Route 83.
