Did you know the Lake County Division of Transportation does more than ROADS? The LCDOT also provides safe passage for bikes on more than 50 miles of bike paths!
This summer Lake County will celebrate two new additions to the bike path system with the opening of the Deerfield Road Bike Path in June (Watch Lake County Connection program covering the opening event), and the Skokie Valley Bike Path Extension in August.
- What is your favorite bike path in Lake County?
- Do you ride for fun?
- Do you ride for exercise?
- Do you ride to work or to run errands?
- Do you ride as a way to cut down on air pollution?
- Do you ride to avoid sitting in traffic?
- Who do you ride with?
Tell us your bike path story by sending your pictures, videos and experiences to communications@lakecountyil.gov. We are looking for residents to feature in an in-depth program about Lake County’s bike path system on LCTV. We may also feature your pictures and stories or quotes on our website. Send as many entries as you want.
Kids can get involved too! Submit photos and videos of you and your friends using a Lake County bike path. Or send us your original artwork (drawings, paintings, etc…) of people riding bikes. Your artwork may be displayed on our website, featured in our LCTV bike path program or even used on future publications or signage related to LCDOT bike paths.
